Frequently Asked Questions

Most commercial dairies produce ghee by separating raw cream in high-speed mechanical centrifuges and boiling that cream directly. Vedic Bilona Ghee follows the authentic Ayurvedic 5-stage method: whole fresh cow milk is cultured into curd (dahi) in earthen pots, then churned bi-directionally with a wooden bilona to separate makkhan (butter), which is then slowly simmered over low fire. This creates easily digestible short-chain fatty acids (like butyric acid) and preserves vital enzymes.

Our ghee comes exclusively from indigenous desert cow breeds of Rajasthan — primarily Tharparkar and Rathi cows. These humped cows have grazed in the Thar desert for centuries on native herbs and wild grasses. Their milk naturally contains pure A2 beta-casein protein without any synthetic additives.

Unlike industrial brands that use artificial colorants and chemical stabilizers to maintain artificial uniformity, Thar Bites Ghee is 100% natural and unadulterated. The golden hue and granular (danedar) texture naturally fluctuate depending on the season, ambient weather in Rajasthan, and the fresh desert flora consumed by the cows. This natural variation is proof of genuine purity.

Store the glass jar in a cool, dry pantry away from direct sunlight and moisture. Do not refrigerate, as condensation alters the granular consistency. Always use a clean, dry spoon. The shelf life is 12 months from the packaging date.

Yes. During the slow clarification process, milk solids (casein and lactose) coagulate and are completely strained out. Pure ghee is essentially 99.7% pure milk fat and is widely tolerated and beneficial for individuals with dairy sensitivities.
